In the game of bingo land based players have to mark the numbers on the cards when the number is called. They can’t use a permanent marker or dauber until the end since the cards are used throughout the bingo playing session. None of the regulars use the beans that the bingo hall supplies. They usually buy their own chips. Bingo chips are circular plastic discs that are placed over the number when it is called. They are transparent so the player can see the number that is underneath. These plastic bingo chips are relatively inexpensive and come in a variety of numbers. They come in two sizes. The small chips are 3/4 “and come in twelve colors: orange, yellow, amber, green, mint, aqua, violet, purple, pink, fuscia, red, assorted colors and blue. Different colors are used by various casinos.
These chips are also available in the larger 7/8” size. Most people use magnetic chips for ease of clearing the card. This means they need the magnetic wand for use is clearing the chips. These are also relatively inexpensive and come in a variety of colors: red, orange, green, yellow, blue and purple to name a few. Bingo players usually like to be color coordinated to play bingo. Many have back-up sets of chips and wands for emergencies or so they can change off colors. The plastic chips are much easier to use than the beans are. The chips will slide easier on the paper cards. The wands make it much easier to clear the cards with out dropping the chips. |
