Superstitious behavior consists of doing or saying things that players think will bring them good luck.  This may be little sayings or wearing certain clothing.  It may also include bringing good luck charms to the game or picking cards with certain numbers because they are lucky numbers.

The purpose of these superstitious actions is that players think that they have a better chance of winning.  The outcome of the internet bingo game is determined by the draw of the numbers.  Each number’s selection is a random event and independent of the selection of every other number. There is no way to predict the numbers that will be drawn and no way to influence the numbers that are selected.

There is no way of playing that affects the outcome.  So what does superstitious behavior do? It results in the player feeling luckier.  It doesn’t change the outcome of the casino game, but it does change the player’s attitude.  The player feels luckier, whether she is or not.  This means that she has a more positive attitude and is more fun to be around.  She isn’t belly-aching or moping.

She is probably more likely to be making jokes and pleasantly talking to other players.  The result of the superstitious behavior is that everyone has a better time at the game.  Do superstitions help?  They probably don’t help the players win any more than usual, but they do have a better time so there is nothing wrong with superstitions and superstitious behavior.
